Hi there,
Welcome to the 14th edition of "State of anew sleep".
Every month I share snippets of what I (and the team) at anew sleep are working on.
Here's what happened.
.com Soon™
While we're working on improving our business in Denmark, we're also working on preparing our .com store to start selling across Europe. It'll be a "test the waters and see what bites" and work the localization magic from there.
It'll be a combination of us launching new products (which will be a perfect fit for going broad) and us working on our expansion strategy.
Denmark is small. Yes, you can build a great business in Denmark. But I am already building our agency in Denmark so I (and the team) are hungry for more.
We're currently waiting on a few new product lines which will be the primary driver for expansion outside Denmark.
Initial tests show us all the good indicators:
- Winning product
- Viral factor
- Strong ROAS
- Easy to ship
- Good COGS
We're already selling outside Denmark, but this .com store will help us boost this to a whole new level.
Our 3PL is ready.
Soon™ we will be ready.
Data Centralization
Working <5 hours a week (each - Haris and I) on anew sleep makes it difficult to do everything but we want to do the right things at the right time.
That also means we've had to minimize the time spent on day-to-day optimizations.
Sometimes you have "off days" e.g. ROAS and/or sales plummet. Now you're thinking "What happened?" and suddenly you're looking at data across Shopify, Meta, Google, Google Analytics, product sales data and so much more to understand what drives this negative change.
We're automating a great deal of this data to make it easy to read and act upon in minutes—not hours.
We're looking at:
- How our funnel performs
- Changes to our key metrics on/off platforms
- Changes in performance on a product level
And so much more.
Everything is built with data connectors to our Funnel dashboard. This is going to be a game-changer for how quickly we can respond to issues when they pop up.
1) Take a lot of your time
2) You do every day/week/month
Those are the first ones to automate or make it easier to execute on. I use a combination of Make, Funnel and Looker Studio. If all fails and it cannot be automated, it's time to delegate.
It's also what we've built a lot of our creative reporting in (which helps our performance on Meta and YouTube ads).
Conclusion
Thanks for reading so far. I will be doing this every month. If there's something specific you want to hear about in these updates: Shoot me a message on LinkedIn.
See you in a month.
